Looking back on an interview I videotaped with Robb Davis in Davis (no relation) CA earlier this spring – as I look forward to teaching research again in Fall 2010. Robb interviewed his friend David about his compassion project – where David stands on the corner of C and 3rd Streets in Davis and asks those who pass by to write their definition of compassion in his notebook. Robb calls it street journaling. “I thought I would try it for the rest of my life and see what happens,” says David. Research comes in many forms.
